Reid's First Bath and Baby Boot Camp

We are still floating on cloud nine and had to take a few small minutes to brag on our precious baby boy!  Little Reid is the BEST baby (he really is...we're not just saying that!)!  The sweet little guy is so laid back and just happy.  He only cries when he has a wet diaper... and considering he just had his circumcision on Thursday evening...I think I'd cry, too =)  That discomfort should pass in a few days, though.  He is eating like a champ as well...  The nurse at the hospital was a little nervous because he had not been taking a bottle very well with her, but he's eating between 2 and 3 ounces each feeding now without spitting any of it up.  What a relief for Mommy!

He had his first sponge bath today as well... and after we were done with the diaper area, he truly loved it!

Here he is not at all happy about the diaper clean up and change...

Happy boy getting some lotion rubbed on his little chest!

He LOVED the warm water being poured over his little head and kept smiling at himself in the mirror...

So content and happy (Mommy had just had a shower, too!)

I wanted to share this picture as well - the two main men of my life!  This was the first time Ben fed Reid - what a special memory!

And, like all new parents... we are definitely in the thick of what we're calling Baby Boot Camp.  We saw a bib the other day that we are definitely going back to buy...  It said "Party at my crib at 2am".  That definitely sums up our Reid!  Right now, he has his days and nights switched so Mommy and Daddy are trying to learn how to sleep when he sleeps during the day.  He's been taking good 2-3 hour naps during the day.  But his most alert time is from about 2am-6am.  He's up, talking, and wanting to play.  =)

This picture was taken about 2:30am this morning...it about sums up our life right now.  Love it!

he's so alert! well, at least you know he's a healthy boy - - able to wake you up in the middle of the night. that's what i try to tell myself when reed wakes me up screaming at 2 in the morning. thank God i've got a baby boy who's healthy enough to want to wake up to eat -- even if it's at 2:00! would love to drop by something for you guys!

PRECIOUS! He is just beautiful! I am sure you have lots of people you can call on for sleep advice, but if you have questions just ask. I sleep trained both my babies early (with the advice of many friends and authors!) and I think we all loved it in the end! You won't have to really worry about training for a few more weeks though. Karoline had her days and nights mixed up so bad, but after two weeks she was doing much better. I treasure the memories we made at 2AM (through 6AM!) What a blessing!

Ahhh, those first days are so precious when you are running off of adrenaline and you can't wipe the huge grin off your face! Too bad you were a bit sleep deprived to start out with, huh?

That's the glory of this being the first baby, you can sleep when he does! Little Miss had her days and nights off too! I blame it on her being born at 413 am though! That would mess anyone up!

Love the new pictures! Thanks for sharing!

Why is it always 2am??? Smith especially is stuck at 2am, but at least mine are old enough to go back to sleep quickly. You'll get there soon. I am so excited that Reid and Smith and Thomas will grow up at Keystone together! Love ya'll

Love it...I would say you are fully inducted into parenthood now. What a sweet sweet baby he is...there is nothing more precious than the 2-6am awake time...you've got the rest of your life to sleep...he'll be snoozing through the night before you know it...savor every second. We are so happy for you!!

Bailey didn't sleep through an entire night for probably 9 months(or more), but I wouldn't change it for the world. Those WEE HOUR feedings are SO PRECIOUS...and SO FULL of "talk time" with Reid and his MOMMY and DADDY!!!

Love the pictures! I love that he is eating like a champ and so happy! He looks very content in his pictures...love the one with Ben and Reid at 2 am! The great thing about babies is that they are so cute you want to go to the party in their crib at 2am=0 Soon enough you will all be sleeping happily the entire night long! Lots of love!!
