A lot of our friends have been asking us what in the world we're doing to pass the time - this waiting is so hard!!! Our answer... not much. Sticking to our normal routines. Work, hanging out (trying to enjoy our last few days with just the two of us), I've been frantically reading Baby 411 (AWESOME book for new and veteran parents!), we packed the little dude's bags yesterday - everything's ready to go. Oh!!! And my glider for the nursery came in on Saturday (8 WEEKS EARLY - yea!!!)!
And... my big distraction for the waiting... has been planning our trip to Maui for the end of March! This trip was on the calendar long before we ever knew about our sweet new addition to the family... so we'll see how everything pans out with a precious newborn in the mix! =) Should be a truly incredible time!!! We'll be staying at the Grand Wailea Resort and Spa for 6 nights...check out the pics below - we're so excited!
And...before anyone gets up in arms about how in the heck we're affording this trip just two short months after adoption expenses... no, we did not win the lottery. This is a COMPLETELY FREE trip for us (which makes it that much sweeter!). Ben won this trip through work - I'm so very proud of him! It's a great reward for the many hard, long hours he has put in to provide for our family. And, we're getting to go with some of our greatest friends that we spent a year with up in Minneapolis during training. We haven't seen any of them in a very long time, and we can't wait to spend an entire week with them!
Ok... that's about all the distraction I can take... back to checking my email and phone every 2 minutes to see if we've received an update from our caseworkers! Hopefully we'll have exciting news very soon =)

I'm officially envious!
I've been checking your blog often to watch this great moment in your life unfold! Again, we are very excited for you and Ben! Can't wait to see pics, find out the name and hear the story.
(We are also very excited about our time away in Maui!)

WOW! So jealous of your trip!
Your waiting sounds so familiar to our time waiting for Owen. He was one week late, and we had like 5 "last date before kids" dates. It became quite funny!
Waiting anxiously!
tick tock tick tock tick tock...
So cool he is being born in Austin. Love that city!! Waiting to hear what you hear today...and praying, of course!!
I keep checking... and checking, and checking your blog. David finally just said to me "Mom, are you going to leave the computer soon?". We're praying for you guys!
That will be so much fun to go to that beautful resort with a new baby!! Even though you will have a newborn with you, you will be surprised how much more relaxing it is being away from your home! And don't worry about the whole flying thing!! Our little Kate is 15 months old and has flown 12 times already!! Since my family all live in Chicago, Kate has grown up being familiar with airplanes, and it is honestly better to start them young so they get used to it!!! I can't wait to see pictures of your little guy!
I've checked your blog a million times too! I can hardly wait!! Baby P has no idea how many friends he's being born with! And Parker was born in Austin too! He's really into history so he thinks it's cool he was born in the Capitol! Hang in there! He'll be here in a blink!
I think you need to bring a nanny with you to Maui! I am available!!!! :)
Great idea Sandi!! I bet I could get Yaya in on that too. She's the best there is!! Although I am sure Baby P has his own posse of capable nanny stand ins...I'm just sayin...if Sandi can't do it, Yaya and I are free in March :)
Wow! I wanna go!!! Looks awesome! It will be alot different doing it with a newborn. But you will have a blast I'm sure.
Holly, if you have never been to Maui (or the Grand Wailea), ya'll are in for a WONDERFUL vacation, baby and all! My family stays a little south of there and spend time up on the hill, and let me say....very WONDERFUL place to vacation! I've been going there since I was a child! -Brad-
