Say Cheese!

Reid is such a ham for the camera... Every time he sees it he yells, "CHEESE!". This week, he's also started saying 'cheese' anytime he sees his reflection also... too cute!

Fort Worth Children's Museum

Today, I found a new slice of kiddy heaven... the Fort Worth Children's Museum. AWESOME!

Jen Wells and I just couldn't take another day of McDonalds or swimming in luke-warm pools due to the lovely Texas heat... so we decided to brave it with all the kids and head to downtown FW to check out the children's museum. And we were not disappointed, folks... we both left as year-long season pass holders and can now take friends with us for free... woo-hoo! So... come one, come all... we're excited about some air-conditioned fun!

And another great thing... you can bring in your own food and drinks. So our strategy is to be there when it opens at 10am... let the kids play... have picnic lunches... then back home for nap time. Perfect. =) This will be a weekly thing for us, I'm sure.

Here's Reid and I taking self-portraits...

Jen and little Miss Bekah... (Grace was not in the mood for pictures...)

The museum was perfect for our little people... there were block tables, block rooms, train tables, water tables, a Dino Dig sand pit, ambulances to drive, kid grocery stores to shop in, dinosaur exhibits, outdoor play areas, indoor play areas... the list goes on and on and on...

Reid was so excited and running around like a wild man, so I only had time to snap a few pics with the trusty iphone (and of course, he couldn't take time to smile for the camera)... Here's Reider loving the block tables...

Attempting to hula-hoop because he saw some older kids doing it...

And the room of train tables was, BY FAR, his favorite place to be... (I wish I had gotten some more pics of the train room, but Reid was very busy bossing around the older boys and taking away all their trains... I was having to mediate. Sharing is a skill we're still working on... ha.)

When we were leaving, I sat him in his seat as I loaded the rest of the car... Before I could even start the car to leave the parking lot, here's what I found:

Most handsome little guy in all the world! What a fun mommy/son day out!

18 Months Old

18 months old... WOW!!! I love this picture of Reid because it captures his personality perfectly. He is all boy - always exploring, laughing, growling, and getting dirty. So fun!

It seems like just yesterday we were meeting Michael Reid for the very first time as we were bringing him home from the hospital. Reid, you cannot imagine the depths of our love for you. We are so proud and truly enjoy every day as you become more and more of your own, independent, little person.

This past Wednesday we had his 18-month well check... here are the stats:

Height = 31 inches
Weight = 25 lbs, 8 oz
Head Cir = 48.8 cm
(Still hanging out in the 40 - 50 % and growing just perfectly!)

This age completely amazes me at how much they learn and the new things they try every single day! Reid runs EVERYWHERE and climbs EVERYTHING. He loves to "jump" and spin in circles while yelling "WEEEEEEEE!". His favorite thing in the world is to make us laugh... he loves tickling, wrestling, and playing hide-n-seek. I'm that mom who hides all over the house and jumps out to scare him just to see his reaction... he falls to the floor he's laughing so hard, then runs and wants me to chase him. We have just "a little" fun! He also still LOVES his cars and trains... anything that has wheels, really. Doc and KK let him drive the "big car" and that is all he can talk about now. He can also fully work the iphone and computers (unlocks them, turns them on, and finds his games). His Christmas list now consists of his own "big car" and iphone... 18 months or 18 years??? His vocabulary is expanding every day... too many words to list! He'll repeat anything we say and is even counting to 10... next up, is our ABCs. =)

I'm trying to prepare myself for next month as he starts pre-school... let the tears flow! As hard as it is to watch him grow so quickly, I'm really excited for all the adventures he will have. We've enrolled him at Southlake Christian just two days per week (9-2). He'll have Spanish class, science class, and music class... I know that he'll have a blast! Updates on the first day of school to come soon!

Weekend Fun

Per Reid's request in the previous post... we had a little impromptu BBQ at our house for some of his friends (and ours!) over the weekend... We had a great time with the Reneau's, McDaniel's, Hand's, and Higgins'!

Here's Reid, Adalyn, Brielle, and Isabella playing on the slide - I can't believe how big all of our "babies" are getting! I love that they are all growing up together!

And Brielle was kind enough to bring over her bounce house - it's always a huge hit with this crew!

After a big evening of playing outside, BBQ, popsicles, etc... we had some kiddos in much need of a bath...

For some reason, Jill just wasn't quite ready to throw baby Harper into the crazy mix... ;) It won't be long!

With my love...

Pic of the girls... Myself, Cupcake, Jayme, and Tiff...(Jill had already taken Harper home)... Sorry... I didn't get a pic of any of the guys!

My child could entertain himself for hours with the water hose...

Love this little guy with all my heart!
